The New York Public Library's "Make Noise For the Library" campaign
currently has fifteen auctions running on eBay. The Grand Prize and
most exciting auction is a dinner for twelve cooked in your home by
famous chefs Mario Batali of Babbo, Nobu Matsuhisa of Nobu, and
Eric Ripert of Le Bernardin. Each chef will cook a different course
for the meal. Other auctions include a private NYC restaurant tour
and dinner led by Tim Zagat of Zagat Survey, the world's leading
provider of survey-based ratings and reviews of restaurants and
other aspects of travel and leisure. One-hundred percent of all
winning bids are going to the Library. As Was, an eBay Certified
Service Provider, designed the custom template used in each
auction. "The nature of the project, the exciting logo, and the
mood of 'turn the Library on its head' allowed us to be creative
and really create a fun and memorable look for the auctions,"
remarked As Was Founder and President, Debbie Levitt. "We know that
the unique look of the Library's auctions will help raise
additional funds, and we look forward to bringing our expertise to
other charity auctions." Adam Hersh Auctions, one of eBay's most
successful and prominent Trading Assistants, is managing the
auctions. AHA created each auction based on the template supplied
by As Was, set up the individual auctions in a special tool
designed for listing charity auctions on eBay, determined
strategies for the listings, and acted as liaison with eBay. Adam
Hersh, CEO of AHA, explains, "Due to our previous history and
success with charity campaigns that we have run through eBay, which
include Big Brothers Big Sisters and the New York Opera House, eBay
referred the Library's marketing company, Civic Entertainment
Group, to us. Our relationship with eBay's charity department has
helped us achieve additional exposure on eBay's site for this
